I live in Hampstead, London.

I'm married to Vahideh. We have a daughter, Daria. I also have step-children, Sarvenaz (Sarvi) and Hanif Banisadr.

Southampton University, 1978-81, BSc. Mathematics (1st Class honours)
Warwick University 1981-82, MSc. Mathematics

Career:

Scicon Ltd., 1982-87 (computer consultancy).
Bankers Trust Co., 1987-1992 (econometrics and trading models).
GLC Ltd., 1992-March 2004 (Co-founder, Director, speculation using mathematical trading models).

March 2004 - present: retired.

Interests:

The Covent Garden Minuet Company (18th century court dancing. I'm treasurer of the society as well as dancing with it).
The Royal Institution of Great Britain (I'm a member of the RI and have been a member of the Finance Committee).
Amnesty International (AIUK member).
I am a supporter of Freedom from Torture  (formerly known as The Medical Foundation For The Care Of Victims Of Torture).
I am a classical music enthusiast, particularly of baroque music, Beethoven and Schubert.  I like harpsichord music a lot and play the harpsichord at a low level of competence.
Daria has got me keen on opera, particularly Handel, Mozart and Rameau and particularly at Glyndebourne.
I am a fan of the Wigmore Hall.
